Leopard release in March
Apple has pushed the delivery date of it’s new Apple TV product from the end of February to mid March. This event has further enforced my speculation for the release date of Mac OS X 10.5.
The Apple TV is a product that is designed to take advantage of iLife, iTunes and next generation Mac OS features such as Front Row (which will be included with Mac OS X 10.5 ). Releasing a product based on the next version of Mac OS X (10.5) before the full operating system has shipped always seemed a little odd to me and I wondered if the Apple TV really would be out in the wild before the end of February. This is the main reason why I believe the Apple TV release is sure to coincide with Leopard.
Well there it is. I’ve said it, Mac OS X 10.5 otherwise known as Leopard will be released mid-late march.
